"A ministry to provide affordable education led by Haitian educators began in 2011 by forming an alliance of four Christian schools on the island of La Gonâve. Over the past 10 years our focus has developed into entering into relationships with people who share the common goal of locally-led sustainability. Our focus is on capacity, not poverty. We desire to exist in a Jesus-centred community as we love our neighbours as equals".

Wendy Thiessen is a full-time volunteer serving as director of PiFò Haiti. She has been serving alongside the people of La Gonâve since 2011. Wendy is very passionate about empowering families and supporting the local economy through in-country purchasing. The mission of her work is creating a ministry of equals, not one of "rich vs poor". Wendy lives with her husband Ken in Burlington, Ontario. They have 2 amazing adult children, Hunter and Katie.

Christine Micules is a volunteer joining PiFò Haiti in 2018 when she visited La Gonâve on a Project Discovery Trip with her church. This life-changing trip instilled a passion that motivated her to advocate for the projects and people of PiFò Haiti.  Christine has always been an advocate of sharing resources in her community through various initiatives. A nurse by trade, Christine and her husband Cam have 3 children and also live in Burlington.

Pastor Paul Mevoir, Monal Irame and our amazing project manager, Emerson Dalmas live in Anse-à-Galets on the island of La Gonâve, Haiti. They are responsible for the day-to-day operations of the organization in Haiti. We are so very thankful for all they do and feel blessed to call them friends.
